John Legend is gearing up for the release of his fifth studio album Darkness and Light on December 2nd. This afternoon, he debuted a new song “Penthouse Floor” feat. Chance the Rapper on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. Organized around a saucy baseline possibly inspired by the theme of Duke Ellington’s “A Single Petal of a Rose,” “Penthouse Floor” is inspired by sex that cannot wait for the bedroom. Legend already has one potential Darkness and Light hit in “Love Me Now.” Does he have another in “Penthouse Floor”?
